 The number of unemployed in Germany goes back in April by 101,000 to 2.744 million. These are 99,000 unemployed less than a year ago. The jobless rate fell by 0.2 points to 6.3 percent.

 


 
 

The number of unemployed in Germany in April fell more than expected and the first time since December, fell significantly below the level of 2.8 million. In the Federal Employment Agency (BA) 2.744 million unemployed were registered. The were 101,000 less than in March and 99,000 fewer than a year ago, the Authority informed in Nuremberg. The unemployment rate fell month on month by 0.2 points to 6.3 percent. Still lower the unemployment rate at an April last 25 years ago.

BA CEO Frank-Jürgen Weise said that the spring revival with a growing employment in the outdoor occupations have reduced unemployment.

The fall was this April but slightly stronger than the average of the past three years , By deducting the seasonal fluctuations in unemployment, compared to March unexpectedly sharply to 16,000. Banking Economists had forecast no change in the seasonally adjusted number.
