In the event that the EU divert imported natural gas to Ukraine from Russia, Russian Energy Minister threatens Nowak openly with a gas-delivery stop. Should it really be a bottleneck, Norway could help out a little.

Russia threatens European States with restrictions in gas supply, these imported gas should transfer part of the Ukraine. “The agreements entered no re-export front,” Russian Energy Minister Alexander Nowak told the “Handelsblatt”. It was hoped that “our European partners to adhere to the agreements”. Only that could guarantee uninterrupted supplies to European consumers. The EU gets about a third of its gas from Russia, which in turn flows about half through pipelines in Ukraine.

Nowak’s statements come just before talks to resolve the gas dispute between Russia and Ukraine, now in Berlin take place. Through the mediation of EU Energy Commissioner Günther Oettinger take it next Nowak and Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller and Ukrainian representative part.

Due to open bills and different views on the legitimate gas price Russia Ukraine had turned off the gas tap in June . The Kiev government accuses the neighboring country the right to charge excessive prices and abuse its gas dominance as a means of political pressure to support pro-Russian separatists.
